3 is as its name... a size 3 ring. Why so tiny? Because small hands wear pinky finger rings too. :) Mine is size 4!
3 was born first in wax as all the rings in this release. How is that? A special wax is carved with a shape and details we want in a ring or other piece and after a small rain of wax semi dust and shavings our model is ready. I like the trend of BOLD rings so, 3 had to be bold, rustic, brutal, wild as a "grown up ring", all the same but in a miniature size. Once 3 looked as wild as in my imagination was time to see it born, so, time to sand cast. Molten metal is pour in a mold where the shape of our model waits to be filled and after it cools a bit a circular messy circle -our baby- is ready to be clean. In Delft clay work, vents to allow te hot air to escape leave small antennas everywhere on our pieces and sometimes end being a part of the design!! But most times the antennas need to go so, sawing and sanding, polishing and getting it ready for a stone is the required next step. In this case small cubic zirconia I had already set into semi circular shapes. Open on one side could give the idea of adjustable... well... not really. This is Solid and I mean Solid metal anyway if in a pickle, a couple of Strong hands and pliers might be able to open it, otherwise is Not going to happen.
