Destash, crackled stone and copper focal construction
I modify beads, stones, all that shines too much or it seems to perfect. Sometimes crackle crystals with temperature shock, other times a hammer, others acidic environments, you name it, even sanding or tumbling -anyway tumbling leves them to the "perfect side" too cute and pretty lacking of that character I chase. Some crystals and stones die in the process becoming a powdery mess, others crackle perfectly, crack on veins, show thir inner heart, and those are the ones I use for pieces like this.
(It is Not easy to crack a stone... !!!)
This turquoise opened just in the right areas, in the veins, showing the core, the mineral that veins carried in a soft rust color.
Set in pure copper, the bezel set stone is not soldered but moves what it makes it a construction more than just a focal. (You could separate the paarts and use them independently!)
It measures total 4x5 inches approx.
