Dryad. Sterling, Shibuichi, Natural Turquoise, Thimbles OOAK

Dryad. Sterling, Shibuichi, Natural Turquoise, Thimbles OOAK

$480.00Price

Dryad has a mobile focal sculpture that merges Natural turquoise, Sterling and Shibuichi with a feminine form -Shibuichi- on a rustic background and a Shibuichi tree branch -all sand cast- symbolizing the tree's nymph, a goddess spirit of the tree.Oxidized to rust, its rustic asymmetrical appearance is both romantic and wild. Covering as top the two natural chocolate turquoises hand cut in a rustic style is a surprise: Sterling thimbles. I love to add small elements that once were objects of beauty but also had functionality altering what they were made for and changing their meaning yet preserving the essence.

Natural heisi turquoises, more Sterling and Afghan natural turquoises complete this piece that ends in a hand crafted sterling clasp.

Timeless, unique, bold, intense, no light weight, this One of a Kind measures around the neck 18 inches, no counting the extension chain, that measures 1 1/2 inches.

Stranded in thick Sterling wire, the piece has "body" and it can be formed around your neck avoiding the focal "falling" to the front as it happens with pieces stranded in plastic thread.

The pictures where the piece rests on the bust show how it could look on You since it is a human size mannequin.

"In the Greek world, nymphs were everywhere. They were nature goddesses and, even if they were rarely ever seen by humans, they could be found in all the places that trees grew, water ran, wind blew, animals flourished, and mountains soared.Like most nymphs, the dryads were beautiful young women who inspired great love among mortals and gods alike.Unlike most other nymphs, though, you did not have to be born a dryad to become a spirit of the trees. The dryads were some of the most famous nymphs of Greek mythology. They were wives, lovers, mothers, companions, and caretakers to gods and men alike. " https://mythologysource.com/dryads-greek-nymphs/
