Maya's Sun -Sterling
Maya's Sun is semi asymmetrical, with a classic edge into its rustic and almost brutalist feel. In Sterling, silver 999 and silver 900, a rescued Mayan's calendar part -partially soldered to the necklace's body to prevent it to be moving- holds a myriad of small pods, all different plus a distressed one at center with a deep organic feel like a pod that could exist somewhere in the old luscious Mayan jungles. The neck, all in hand crafted wire -yes, the Wire is also hand made with hand tools- keeps some textures and an uncorrupted surface where machines had not be used adding character to the whole in its asymmetrical design that closes behind the neck with sterling chain and clasp.
Unusual, modern, intriguing, rustic, fine jewelry rare and One in the world, my favorite thing. (All pieces in Precious metals are Fine Jewelry)
It measures around the neck -following the curve with a metric tape- 18 inches, but could be extended adding some few links at the back since it is not spring hard -would keep the shape-. The pictures where the piece rests on the bust show you its dimensions, how and how long falls on the neck, how it would look on You since it is a real human size mannequin.
