When Aannalee gave me the old silver pieces to melt and be transformed in whatever my muses wanted I decided instead of erasing the artisan traces of wonder of this world melting it all, to rescue repousse parts, cuts here and there that have special beauty, something like soul. This elephant is one of them. Reinforced and tiptoing around to preserve the work with no dents not damage, the elephant was free of that larger piece to be part of a collage. (It is not as easy as it seems... Repousse gets easily damaged if worked carelessly and I really wanted to save him/her!)
Set on top of a sand cast form in solid oxidized Sterling, just needed that "something special" to give life to it, but... what... eventually I found it, a rustic stoneware disc that aged with the torch gave the perfect feel, old, ancient even, mysterious.
It measures total -with a tube bail on top- 84.2 x 34mm approx. Not heavy, it could be worn as is with a thin chain or be a focal element for bolder beads, textiles, wow, whatever your muses whisper.
