Classic But rustic, tribal but industrial, this piece has an interesting focal element that was made with two battered copper fold formed pieces -torched to part of the melting point to add apparent decay-, a fold formed and flooded with craters structure and... an African Batik bead as "stone of choice". Yes, I totally do that when I like a bead, an object, a combination of elements and materials... it is not boundaries nor respect for any conventional rules, it is in some way our personal parcel of god like powers, the making from nothingness to something different, the mixing of materials like alchemy and when finished the sensation in the body of a hot coco cup comforting us and stopping that inner itch, the fire when colors and shapes, forms and materials merge... eventually. Until the next piece is on the bench.
Virgin unglazed stoneware discs, African Batik bone beads, glass beads and basaltic clay stoneware beads finish this piece that ends in a handcrafted copper hook clasp.
It measures around the neck 20 inches
Some pictures show the piece on a real size human mannequin to give you an idea of its boldness and size.
