In You, Blue Opal and Sapphire coexist in a magical design with a talismanic sensation that flows from its forms and soft palette to the faceted sky white, blues and chocolate faceted stone that enigmatically make us wonder which precious stone it is. It is a rare Sapphire, opaque, with white, blue and chocolate veins quite magnificent if you ask me. I was lucky enough to be able to capture some Few of them among other wonders that will be slowly blooming into pieces.
Made in solid and thick Sterling -and some touches of Fine Silver- the piece is a construction that merges tufa casting with more traditional and contemporary jewelry techniques giving to it its mysterious flair. 
One of a kind, it measures 7 3/4 inches. It "could" be extended adding some of the round solid links that clasp -I have a couple more- but the mold used for most of this construction had been destroyed. It is not just to prevent to repeat designs, I really like some of the forms and would like to use some in several different designs, but Tufa stone casting is tricky and the molds deteriorate easily allowing to cast less than a handful of elements anyway in extreme circumstances if I need "just one more link, OMG" I opt to use a link and copy it with delft clay casting anyway is not always a 100% certainty of success. Each link is cast individually, cleaned -removing the excess metal cast involves-, sanded and prepared, all is constructed without stones that are added at the end in a journey of days of careful -and fun and challenges and...- work. Just the stone carving takes almost a day -and LOTS of dust!!!- then the stone has to be prepared to a successful casting just pouring hot metal into it and testing, lots and lots of testing... ahhhhhhhh but then when it is finished, oxidized, polished, carefully checked for rough areas and has been born that feeling I call happiness happens; whoshhh, the music crescendo, the muscles that relax, the passion rests like after love, a journey has ended and opens the windows to a new adventure.
